Verbier

VerbierVerbier

As soon as the first snow begins to fall, the resort of Verbier is a magnet for winter sports enthusiasts. Located at an altitude of 1,500m, Verbier is the main gateway to the Four Valleys area, comprising over 410 kilometres of ski runs and 93 state-of-the-art lifts, all covered by a single ski pass. This almost unlimited mountain playground has slopes to suit every level of ability, from complete beginner to experienced veteran. The resort's international reputation is based on its wide range of ski runs and a terrain particularly well suited to off-piste skiing, with some areas reached by helicopter. Not to mention its après-ski activities, which see you into the early hours of another day of outdoor activity.

Verbier rocks!

I've done two seasons in Verbier and it is an excellent resort in nearly every way. It is beautiful to look at and the restaurants and clubs are brilliant (if not the cheapest!) and if you are a reasonably good skier you will love the mountain. Hire a ski instructor to show you where all the best snow is and give you a few tips and you will have a fab time. (I worked at Altitude Ski School where all the best instructors are!! ;o) ). Not an ideal resort for beginners but once you've got a few weeks experience under your belt go for it!
